What In-House Counsel Need to Know to Protect Trade Secrets
Trade secret disputes have become a significant business and governance risk rather than a purely IP issue. As trade secret filings reached record levels in 2025 and continue to rise, companies face growing exposure to high-value litigation, shareholder claims, regulatory scrutiny, and potential executive liability. Because trade secrets often represent a company's most valuable assets ? yet remain unregistered ? their identification, protection, and enforcement require a different approach from other forms of intellectual property.
This webinar will be particularly valuable for IP professionals, in-house counsel managing cross-border disputes, and compliance leaders. IP teams will gain practical insight into defining and documenting trade secrets with sufficient particularity, a frequent threshold issue in litigation. Litigation counsel will benefit from updates on filing trends, key venues, damages exposure, and ITC enforcement options. Compliance and governance professionals will learn how weaknesses in trade secret protection can create board-level exposure, shareholder actions, and broader enterprise risk.
The program will explore the full lifecycle of trade secret disputes, including the U.S. legal framework, recent litigation trends, trade secret identification, damages, executive and board liability, and enforcement strategies before the ITC. Beyond legal doctrine, the discussion will focus on practical risk management ? how companies can better identify, document, and safeguard trade secrets, strengthen governance processes, and reduce the likelihood of costly disputes.
Language: Korean-English simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
